Mary E. Gellens, MD, is Medical Director at Baxter Healthcare in the renal therapeutic area. A nephrologist, she received her MD at the University of Florida, after which she completed her residency at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed a nephrology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Gellens  joined the faculty at St. Louis University where she was in charge of outpatient dialysis, taught medical students and fellows, and performed clinical research, before joining Baxter Healthcare in 2012. Dr. Gellens has an interest in all types of extracorporeal therapy, including PD, HD, and CRRT. She has published in the area of dialysis therapy.
